Weather and nature
The climate in Yakutia is sharp continental. The temperature rises more
than +30 Celsius in summer period and falls below –50, -70 Celsius in
winter time. It is warm and sunny in August and the tempetature is
usually +15 - +20 degrees above zero. Winter lasts 8 months and we have
summer during 4 months. Yakutia is situated in three nature areas, they
are: tundroviy, gorno-tayznui and tayznui areas. There are mountain
ranges in Yakutia such as Verkhoyanskiy, Momskiy, Cherskiy, Suntarskiy.
The territory of Yakutia is 3 billion and 103 thousand sq.km. When
visited Yakutia you will be astonished by its vast territory, permafrost
and one of the greatest rivers of Siberia - our beautiful Lena.
