Information
The 12-th International Arctic Ungulate Conference (AUC) continues a
series of 11 conferences dedicated to Arctic Ungulates animals,
including five international Reindeers (Caribou) Symposia, two
international Muskox and four Arctic Ungulate Conferences.
The series began with the First International Reindeer/Caribou Symposium,
held in Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1972. The Third International Reindeer/Caribou
Symposium was in Saariselka, Finland, in 1982. First Arctic Ungulate
Conference was arranged in Nuuk, Greenland, in 1991, and 2nd in
Fairbanks, in 1995. The 10th AUC was held in Troms0, Norway, in 1999.

Conference was held in Saariselka, Finland.
12-th International Arctic Ungulate Conference (AUC) will be arranged
within the framework of International Forum on Preservation and Usage of
Wild Life of Arctic Region (Yakutsk, August 8-13, 2007) and it is
dedicated the 375th Anniversary of Yakutia Unification With Russian
State and Yakutsk’s foundation to facilitate international and
inter-regional cooperation in the field of preservation and usage of
biological variety as a guarantor of stable development, restoring of
traditions and forming an alternative management of nature on the basis
of ecological traditions of Northern nationalities.
